My Work

About Me

Hi, my name is Joey Kern. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and minor in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University. I’m currently taking part-time classes at the Carlson School of Management to obtain my master’s degree in Applied Business Analytics where I played a year of basketball for the University of Minnesota.

Many people come up with new apps or innovative technological ideas. I felt that being well versed in both software and hardware would give me a strong chance to act on some of the wild ideas that pop into my brain. Check out a project from my freshman year in the “My Work” section titled The SoundCube!

I spent the summer of 2020 interning for DraftKings Inc. and was amazed by how personal everyone was and how hard they work. I was offered a full-time job here as a Business Data Analyst beginning in the fall of 2021 and initially accepted the offer. After I accepted the job I was given the opportunity to continue my basketball career while working towards my master’s. Playing Division I basketball had long been a dream of mine and I’m proud to have lived out that dream at The University of Minnesota during the 2021-22 season.

At the conclusion of the 2022 academic year, my hope is to find work at a company where I can immediately provide positive results while also learning from the intelligent co-workers surrounding me!
